Reegene Taylor, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on Thursday at the age of 79. She was surrounded by her loved ones during her final days.

Born in , Reegene lived her life with love and compassion for others. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends. She was known for her delicious Sunday dinners, which brought everyone together to share stories and laughter.

Reegene was a devoted member of Victory Baptist Church in Turtletown, where she worshipped alongside her community. Her strong faith guided her through life's challenges and provided solace during difficult times.

Surviving Reegene are her sons, Cleaston (Joan) Taylor of Etowah, William Taylor of Reliance, and Larry (Lisa) Taylor of Etowah; daughters, Christine (Jason) Lewis of Athens, and Peggy (Melvin) Freeman of Etowah; five brothers and sisters; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 12:00 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Home in the chapel. A funeral service will follow immediately after at 2:00 p.m., with graveside services taking place at Archville Baptist Church Cemetery.

Reegene was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Mattie Dunn; her husband, Goldman Taylor, to whom she was married for over 40 years.

Throughout her life, Reegene touched the hearts of everyone she met. Her kindness, generosity, and warm spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. As we celebrate her life, we remember her love for cooking Sunday dinner for her family and her dedication to her community.
